Jasper and Maia came into Foster Care separately but quickly bonded as a pair and have flourished into a wonderful pair of very bonded kitties.

 

Jasper is 6 years old and came into rescue as a terrified very timid kitty from an abusive home and it has taken many months for him to finally trust humans again, but once he did he showed what a sweet and loving kitty he truly is at heart. Jasper will greet you once he sees you by standing up on his hind legs for head pets and body rubs, he loves to be wherever you are and his favorite petting time is in bed right before you go to sleep, he will sleep on the foot of the bed all night with you. Jasper has gorgeous green eyes, a beautiful striking Tiger Tabby coat with bold stripes and spots with a golden undercoat, his cost is short hair with minimal shedding - he does loves to be brushed too! Once Jasper gets to know and trust you he LOVES belly rubs and his beautiful golden belly is truly hard to resist not petting it!

Jasper loves to play with strings and shoelaces especially, he has a favorite pink shoelace with white hearts on it that he goes crazy over! He also loves for you to play with him with feather wands, Catnip toys and other interactive toys.

 

Jasper is neutered, up to date on Vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and has a clean bill of health from his Veterinarian, he is also Micro-Chipped. His foster mom says: "Jasper uses his scratch posts and his litter box proficiently, he is a very good boy and is so affectionate once he gets to know you."

 

Maia came into rescue right after being found abandoned outside all alone during the winter, she was only about a year old, very hungry and in need of good nutritional food and medical care. We took her into our rescue, a search was done for her owners in the area in which she was found and no one claimed her even after the mandatory stray hold had expired.

 

Maia was terrified of humans and we could not touch her for many months but eventually she learned to trust her foster mom and Jasper really helped pull her out of her shell as he showed her how much he trusted his foster mom when she was watching. Before we knew it Maia was no longer hiding and coming out to be pet and she LOVES TO BE BRUSHED by her foster mom.

 

Maia has been spayed and is up to date on all Vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and she is now also micro-chipped and has a clean bill of health from our Veterinarian. Maia has gorgeous Dilute Tortoiseshell colors of muted gray, peach, black and gold. Her peach colored front paw and back paw are so precious in person to see...and of course she has the long ear tuffs, fine baby soft behind the ear tuffs and long tuffs between her toes too! Her eye color is striking as it changes from gold to green depending on the light. Maia enjoys being pet and to be with you, she is still young and playful but is learning to be more of a lap cat and to lay by you which will come more easy as she grows older and gets to know and trust you.

Jasper and Maia both LOVE to sit on the cat trees looking out the window to watch the birds and other wildlife outside, they love to lay in the sun for their afternoon naps so a nice sunny window would be a favorite spot for those naps. Jasper is super fast and leaps in the air to catch his favorite feather wand toy "Da-Bird". Maia loves to play with all types of catnip toys, she loves to chase and play with her fuzzy rattle mice, plastic curly springs and batting balls around the house. Her foster mom says: "Maia has been a good girl and has learned to use her scratch posts and has always used her litter box like a champ."

Jasper and Maia both know how to use a regular litter box with clumping cat litter but as of August this past year they have graduated to using the automated cleaning litter box called a Litter Robot and they had no problem going into this new fangled litter box and using it from the minute it was installed into their foster room. They are both very smart cats and figure things out pretty quickly.

 

We think Jasper and Maia will make wonderful companion cats for a couple or a single individual. With the background history of Jasper - young children would not be a good fit for him but older high school age children he would probably be fine with since he loves his foster moms older son.
